Handmade from scratch each day, each meal boasts of care and excellence. With rotating specials and staples on the menu, the Chef never compromises his traditional Northern Italian fare.

San Luis Obispo is known for its farmers' markets, and we shop these weekly to provide fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers. We invent weekly--and sometimes daily--specials centered around our gathered produce. Check in with us often to see what we are currently offering: Luciano offers up to eight specials at a time! Stroll down Garden Street, take a peak at our specials board outside or peer through the windowpanes to see our kitchen in action.

Artin Safari  

Owner/Executive Chef

After managing restaurants his entire life and owning a Mediterranean style quick dining restaurant, his dream came true when he stumbled upon La Locanda and Luciano Bardinelli. Artin relocated with his newlywed wife Nicole to San Luis Obispo from Los Angeles to begin their new adventure. Luciano showed him the way and shared all of his recipes along with his tips and tricks so that the legend would continue. Now, husband and wife are working together to keep the home cooked, made with love food consistent for their community and followers. It is important for Artin to make you feel at home once you enter the cozy dining room.
